Hitachi Digital Camera - Review

Hitachi made a name for itself in the international electronics industry as a company that's not afraid to explore the cutting-edge of product development. Some might even call it the bleeding edge, considering the failure of Hitachi's innovative MPEG Camera.

Hitachi Denshi is developing a project for the Intelligent Security and Surveillance System. The equipment can handle advanced functions such as image recognition, image processing and automatic search. The company aims to tackle the needs of users who want to link their security systems to an information network or to multimedia services, including video transmission. Additional sales campaigns will concentrate on prospects in public utilities and local government.

Looks like we're going to be seeing more and more portable CD-R, CD-RW and DVD-RAM devices exploiting smaller disc formats, while I'm not sure they have a place inside a Hitachi digital camera they are certainly the way forward for digital video and I'd like to see the technology implemented in a device similar to the Digital Wallet we've heard so much about recently.
